> Minesweeper91 is a free, ad-free Minesweeper web app at minesweeper91.com. Play classic Minesweeper with 3 board sizes (Beginner, Intermediate, Expert) and no sign-up. Features auto-save, dark mode, keyboard shortcuts, flag/reveal toggle, and chord clicking. Available in English and Spanish.

Minesweeper91 is a client-side Next.js app. Boards are generated in the browser after the first click, which is always safe. Game state is saved locally via localStorage — there are no user accounts or server-side persistence.

## Board Sizes

- Beginner: 9×9 grid with 10 mines — good for learning, most players finish in 5–15 seconds
- Intermediate: 16×16 grid with 40 mines — the standard casual size, 30–90 seconds typical
- Expert: 30×16 grid with 99 mines — the competitive standard, world records under 30 seconds

## Game Features

- First-click safety: the board is generated after your first click so you never hit a mine on the first move
- Chord clicking: if a numbered cell has the correct number of flags around it, clicking it reveals all remaining neighbors
- Flag mode: right-click on desktop, toggle flag/reveal mode on mobile, or long-press any cell
- Auto-save: game state persists across browser refreshes
- Timer: starts on first click, pauses when the tab is hidden
- Keyboard shortcuts: arrows to navigate, Space/Enter to reveal, F to flag, N for new game, 1/2/3 to switch board size
